Context
Not every good retail spot has room for a full-size vending machine. Offices and small service areas need a compact, lower-cost machine, but their requirements for remote monitoring and cashless payment are no smaller.
The problem
A small machine still needs cashless payment, telemetry, and alerts, at a fraction of the hardware cost and size of a full-size unit. And to run many small sites with a small team, every machine had to report into one dashboard.
What we built
The Coffee+ machines run on Vend OS, our vending platform: the VendCore controller in the machine and VendCloud software for the fleet. The MiniVend kit adds a 3.5-inch display that shows advertising while idle, QPay QR payment, 4G/Wi-Fi connectivity, and OTA updates. Every sale is verified by the drop sensor, and the payment is refunded automatically if nothing dispenses.
Where it runs
The machines run as part of the Vend OS platform, monitored in the same dashboard as the full-size machines. A heartbeat every 30 seconds keeps status current, and the operator is alerted the moment a machine goes offline.
What changed
Coffee+ now places machines where a full-size unit would not fit and runs them from the same dashboard as the rest of the fleet. Nobody visits a machine that has not reported a fault or an empty slot.
